I work in a kind of shop where children can get free toys. But only for family with less or no money to buy toys.
We get second hand toys, clean it, repair it and give it away. It makes me feel really happy to know that my free patterns are doing so much good!
But it’s a little more flouncy than a typical pencil skirt. This one is to fit 34-36 inch bust, always work a tension square and make sure you use the finer angora not the modern thick one - a 3ply or 4ply should work. Knitted from one cuff to the other with minimal sewing up. This pattern is included in the one above. To fit most sizes, just knit a bit more or less in the main part to get a casual fit. Knitted on larger needles than you would think to give it an airy light feel. Knitted in double knitting wool, always work a tension square. Knitted in vintage 3ply to a tension that would indicate a modern 4ply. Always work a tension square and try a large size needles for lager size. Beautiful short sleeved bolero style bed jacket to fit 33-34 inch bust and knitted in vintage 2ply which will probably knit to a 4ply tension. This pattern has instructions for a pretty cape with collar to fit 34, 36 and 38 inch bust. Knitted in vintage 3ply that should now be modern 4ply. Raglan sleeve with yoke pattern and buttons. Both are knitted in a yarn that would be similar to modern 4ply. There is also a simple shrug style knitted from cuff to cuff in garter stitch with satin ribbon tie at waist. Three little bows could be substituted with button and loops. Short sleeves and silky bow at neck creates a feminine look, but keeps you snuggly warm.

It is knitted in vintage 3ply or modern 4ply wool and although there is no bust measurement given the other measurements are - around the bottom edge 42", sleeves are about 8" and from neck to hem 21". Knitted on large needles 5mm, so you could even try double knitting. Approx 35" bust or larger if knitted in double knitting.

This is so pretty with is deep collar and cuffs, silky bow and over all retro look. Knitted in rouching pattern, that is easy to work and was very popular for jumpers as well at this time. Worked in vintage 3ply, so try modern 4ply in a tension square and change needles if needed.
I love this one so - typical of the time. Worked in vintage baby wool with art silk (rayon). It is quick and easy to work and gives a dainty look to this little jacket. To fit 34 inch bust and is worked in vintage 3ply, so try modern 4ply. Petal stitch is used for the main part of the cape. One is crochet the others are all knitted in mercised yarn, this process gave the yarn a lustre and strength allowing it to move easily through the fingers and be knitted quickly with out fluffing up. It also improved the wearablitly of the article. It is more popular now for sewing and crochet cotton, for the same reasons. Work in modern 4ply for larger size, but don't forget to allow for more wool if you do this. This light and warm cape will fit 32-34 inch bust with ribbon ties that can be replaced with a button if preferred.Very easy, says it is suitable for beginners to make!

This one is knitted in a vintage angora that would be similar to a modern 4ply, always work at tension square. Try also modern 4ply wool if you don't fancy the angora for this one. This one is knitted in a vintage 2ply that would be similar to a modern 3ply, always work at tension square. Try also modern 4ply for this one as tension is not very clear as it refers to a knitted section of pattern. Trimmed with swansdown - still available in some sewing shops. This one has full sleeves and is light an airy. Knitted in vintage wool that would have been similar to modern 3ply and a fine angora, simple version of feather and fan. Width at lower edge 40 inches, but ribbon could be run through holes and thus made smaller.

This one is knitted on worked on alternate fine and large needles to produce a light garment. Edging is crocheted, but a knitted edging could be made if you don't crochet. Know also as a dressing jacket this unusual 'leg of mutton' sleeved jacket has a big soft bow at neck and ribbed lower sleeves and deep rib at waist. This one is knitted in fine wool on very large needles - old size 2 which is 7mm, this creates a light airy feel.Always work a tension square and try a modern 4ply or double knitting for this one. This one has super soft swans down, but this can be omitted if not required. This one again is knitted on really large needles old 00 which is modern 9mm. Choose a 4ply or double knitting and work a tension square and change needle size to get correct tension. This one is knitted in vintage 2ply that would now be similar to modern 4ply. Colours suggests for this one are hydrangea shades of pale pinks and blues. This swansdown trimmed jacket is both simple to knit and elegant in style. Beautifully shaped and you can knit a band of angora if you did not want to use the swansdown. This can still be bought at some haberdashery shops although it more often chick down now. Set in sleeves with pleats at shoulders and is in a bolero style. This one would also make a nice evening bolero. Knitted in a yarn that would be similar to modern 4ply.
